Sweater Hat

Our company was formed more than 30 years ago, in 1975, by a group of professionals, skilled in the design and making of garments. As the project proved successful, hundreds of knitters from the northern region of Ecuador were hired.
At first, all of the employees were family members; however, as demand grew, it became necessary to hire more help, most of whom were unemployed students. They were trained, until a number of 180 was reached, expanding our operations.
At the time the process was quite difficult. The entire process of producing sweaters was in the hands of the artisans. This included shearing sheep, purchasing raw wool, and the process of washing, carding, spinning, and knitting the wool. Sweaters were only made in black, gray, and white, because tints to color the wool were not available. Sometimes brown was used, because walnuts could be used to dye the wool.

Thanks to technological advances in the industry, the process is no longer so difficult.
The artisans now focus their skill on creating the garment, while the raw materials are manufactured by specialty suppliers. Also, the availability of dyes has made it possible to create the more elaborate styles and designs.
As demand has grown over time so has our competition and the quality of raw materials has improved greatly. Our products represent the high quality garments produced by the industry. Our brand name continues to represent the creative influences of our culture and fine style.
We are proudly located in the city of Autuntaqui, known all over Ecuador and the world for its high quality textiles. Also a location in Quito, the capital, has opened since our beginnings in 1975. We have over 400 sites for workers in the provinces of Carchi and Imbabura as well.
